Home Leave Application for Filipino Foreign Domestic Workers - ANISYA

Home Leave Application for Filipino Foreign Domestic Workers

Dear Filipino FDWs,

We have received feedback from some workers that they have successfully done their home leave processing directly at the Philippines Embassy even if your contract has not reached 2 years. The Philippines embassy website states that you must have completed the first contract of 2 years with the same employer before you can apply directly.

Given the cost difference between doing the home leave processing yourself ($104.50) and through a maid agency ($300-400), it might be worth trying to apply at the embassy first before approaching a maid agency.

You must also check if you are exempted from securing an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC). See more information here https://www.anisya.com/2017/01/guidelines-on-oec-exemption-for-filipino-domestic-workers-home-leave/.

Processing time: at least 2 months before departure.
